 HISTORY OF CODEGUARD::

The genesis of CodeGuard occurred when Jonathan Hochman and Jonah Stein met at Google’s headquarters in Mountain View in 2008. A few months later, Jonah organized a panel at O’Reilly Media’s Web 2.0 Summit to talk about the rising danger of virtual blight on the web: malware, hacking, and advertising scams.

After the panel concluded, Jonathan and Jonah discussed how valuable a cloud-based file integrity monitoring tool would be to fight virtual blight. Jonathan imagined using the tool personally in his consulting business, and Jonah envisioned his clients using the tool to protect their websites.

CodeGuard was formed shortly thereafter, and now offers advanced tools for developers and consultants, and basic tools that can be used by anyone with a website.

“There was malicious code added to the home page of the WordPress sites that I managed. When people would visit the websites there was malicious code trying to inject itself into the sites. I had to pay a programmer to fix it…on all 16 client sites..UGH!! Not a fun time, but now I’m excited to have Code Guard, relieves that issue.” - Sasha R.

“[Getting hacked] was a nightmare because the web developer we had used was no longer around… I sure wish I would have had CodeGuard then to help us!” - Aaron H.

“I want to make sure that all of our hard work on our website is protected… It’s kind of common sense” - Liz S.

“It backs up and sends me email when things change, so I know that it’s working” - Joseph

“The registration process was cut and dry. Just create a user account, add your ftp information, and voilá!” - Joseph via Codeguard
